MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
As of Dec. 2022, foreign medical certificates are accepted on board Faroese ships, provided that the foreign medical certificate has been issued in a country that has ratified the STCW Convention and the ILO Maritime Labour Convention, MLC 2006, and that the certificate has been issued by a doctor who is approved as a maritime medical practitioner in the relevant country.
Furthermore, the Faroese Maritime Authority has amended the Faroese Medical Certificate for Seafarers and fishers form according to the STCW and MLC 2006 Convention.
The seafarer and the medical practitioner fill out the form, and the seaferer keeps page 4 with the doctor's signature and stamp.
Note that the form may be completed electronically.
Only medical practitioners approved by the Faroese Maritime Authority may fill out the Faroese medical form. See the list of approved practitioners below.
